No Expectations!

Why do people hurt people?
I've realized in some instances it's inevitable
Damned if u do
Damned if u don't
So how do you not hurt someone?
Cus its either them or you
Someone is going to play the role of the fool
However, I rather be hurt by truth than lies
'Cus lies tend to hurt more when the truth is revealed
And I thought I could shield my heart from pain
in both instances to no avail
Only recourse, I had was to toughen up
See the only way you can get hurt is to have expectations
If you go in a situation, expecting nothing and only accepting whats
acceptable you can walk away with a clear heart and conscience too
However, if you walk in with expectations
you will walk away with frustrations
and realizations that that situation
didn't go the way you envisioned
What  do you do then,
Pick up a pen?
or do you just cry?
All hurt because the person told u a lie?
'Cus you expected another result and got something else?
Hardly makes sense to me
You took him for his word rather than 4 yourself  c
You didn't realize that until u squandered your health
you should of tapped in to that inner wealth
All that time and energy spent
As quickly as he came, is as quickly as he went
Keep running with those that won't give you 100%
You'll be setting yourself up for a fall
When u didn't even have to go thru it at all
Instead of constantly examining what it is he has to say
Look at how he operates and treats you day to day
When your heart and mind blend the path will show
You have to be smart enough to know which way to go!
